I have one suggestion what could be improved in one of the future versions of proFit: When changing the font size of a text field containing indices or exponents, those are set to the new font size and are not scaled proportionally as they are when putting them into subscript or superscript (by cmd - up down arrow or cmd-up arrow). It would be nice if these would be scaled when changing the overall font size, too (not sure how important this is to other people, though). For binning your data, use the Binning Tool in the Calc menu. You can use this to tabulate the bins. Once you have tabulated the bins, choose ?Peaks? -> ?Gauss Peaks? from the Func menu. In the parameter window, set the number of peaks (# peaks) to 1. You probably don?t have a background under the peak, so set ?bg-deg? to 0 and ?bg-0? as well. While editing bg-0, uncheck ?Use for Fitting? because you don?t want to fit the background offset. Then, enter guesses for the other parameters of the Gaussian, in particular its center x0-1. Then, run a fit (e.g. by choosing Curve Fit from the Calc menu) Hope this helps Best Kurt QuantumSoft > On 18 Mar 2021, at 16:32, Alicia Cruz-Uribe wrote: > > Dear ProFit users, > > I have been using ProFit for many years for plotting, but I have never used the statistical functions and I am not well versed in statistics.
