From markus.kriener at riken.jp Mon Oct 5 22:46:44 2020 From: markus.kriener at riken.jp (Markus Kriener) Date: Tue, 6 Oct 2020 12:46:44 +0900 Subject: [proFit-list] ProFit crashes when editing text in graphics In-Reply-To: <7729FE68-AE1D-49FC-ADF6-8B5FE91B100A@mac.com> References: <7729FE68-AE1D-49FC-ADF6-8B5FE91B100A@mac.com> Message-ID: <628AC5F5-EB8E-4B8B-BB0E-6E5BCB5B289F@riken.jp> Dear list members, dear ProFit team, sorry for my late reply. I face indeed similar problems with ProFit as reported by Jan. In my case it does not only crash when editing text. It seems that a crash can happen when performing any task, such as plotting, editing text, deleting text, deleting a data set from a plot, changing the color of a data set etc. Sometimes it even crashes when I use different programs and ProFit is only running in the background. But these things are not reproducible. Sometimes I can work without problems for hours and then suddenly this crash problem appears again and again, e.g., it crashes several times within 15 min or so. I am not sure if it is related, but when changing the color of data, it sometimes happens that all data disappears from the plot window and then some time later a crash happens. I can get the data visible again by changing the color of a data set a second time, though not each time when this happens. And this is also not reproducible, i.e., a crash does not necessarily happen within a short time after I run into this ?disappearance of all plotted data? issue. I am running ProFit 7.0.15 on MacOS 10.14.6. I experienced this problem also on earlier versions of MacOS but not with ProFit 6. I'm running Pro Fit 7.0.14 on Mac OS 10.15.7 and I've checked with Fontbook that I have no problematic fonts. > > Thanks and all the best > Jan > > > > Dr. Jan P. F. So far, it appears that they are uncommon and maybe related to specific configurations. We ask anyone seeing such issues to send a crash report directly to profit at quansoft.com because the long attachments may not make it into the list. (To find a crash log, open the Console report and click the category ?Crash Logs?, see e.g. https://macreports.com/crash-reports-how-to-use-them-to-troubleshoot-why-your-mac-crashed/ ) Thanks in advance Kurt QuantumSoft > On 6 Oct 2020, at 05:46, Markus Kriener wrote: > > Dear list members, dear ProFit team, > > sorry for my late reply. > > I face indeed similar problems with ProFit as reported by Jan.
