[proFit-list] importing data from Apple's Numbers application

Hi,
That is basically what I found. I do not know if this is relevant/helpful, but if you paste from Numbers 09 into a text editor you get a column of column headings and column contents. If I 'select all' in Numbers and then 'copy', then 'Select all' in ProFit followed by 'paste' I get a column of column headings and column contents placed into the first column (except for the cell where the column title would normally be - that is blank.

It is useful to know that there is a CSV export option (and an extra means to export in Excel format, which no doubt some thought would be useful) - strange place to put it, though! Why not just have it in the 'File' menu?

all the best,
Jeremy

From Numbers 09, importing of data works only in a very limited way.
It works only if you copy/paste a selection of cells containing
numbers only. If your selection contains: column titles, anything in a
data cell that is not a number, columns formatted as text or currency,
pro Fit will throw up the "Numerical data out of range or invalid. To
paste text, change the column format to 'text' " error message. That'
regardless of whether "select all" was done prior to pasting.

It's especially disappointing that pro Fit would not paste even a
single column of numbers if it contains a column title.

pro FIt should really improve on this.

Exporting to csv is in the Share menu, the very last before Help.

Thanks,
       Davide
