Hello to all,
I have run into the following problem; when I make a bar graph in
Profit it is impossible to transfer that graph into Intaglio
(Purgatory Design) for editing. That is the graph copy and pastes fine
BUT when choosing Object>Convert>PDF for Editing strange things happen.
Take the following table:
Column 1 Column 2 Column 3
1.00000 6.00000 0.50000
2.00000 4.00000 0.80000
3.00000 8.00000 0.30000
4.00000 5.00000 0.90000
5.00000 2.00000 0.00000
Graph as a bargraph with the default settings using C1 as Location, C2
as Value and C3 as Error and get:

Then copy and paste to Intaglio and choose Object>Convert>PDF for
Editing
There are two dialogs warning of an error 101009 clicking continue
both times and one ends up with:

Using the same data with C1 as Location and C2 and C3 as Values:

Now in BOTH these cases the bars are actually still there, this can be
proven by carefully clicking in their locations and the adjusting the
fill color (see blow)

Also if the bars are outlined to begin wih they can still be seen
after the conversion (below the RED bars were outlined but the BLUE
ones weren't so after the conversion - and errors - you end up with:

So it seems there is an issue with the color information that is NOT
in the form Intaglio expects it.
Also as can be seen above the Y axis numbers are messed up in the
conversion . . . haven't found a way to correct that yet . . . . . .
The workaround seems to be to EXPORT the selected graph as an
Uncompressed EPS file (I haven't tried the other two options). Open
THAT file in Intaglio and then choose Object>Convert>PDF for Editing.
Things come over perfectly then (all colored bars, Y axis as it should
be etc and you can then go through multiple levels of ungroup to make
the individual elements editable. There are still some strange things
though, the numbers for the Y axis don't ungroup to individual
numbers . . . And the outlines are for the bars are one single group
that isn't ungroupable . . . . . Both are things I can live with but -
=- -=- strange . . . . .
